ESO Consultants is seeking a skilled and dependable Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join the Surgical Services team at Rochester General Hospital
. The ideal candidate will provide direct support in the operating room, assisting surgeons and nurses in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care for adult and pediatric patients. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment with a diverse range of procedures and specialties.

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and sterile supplies are available and functional.
• Assist surgeons and nurses during operations, maintaining a sterile field and anticipating procedural needs.
• Handle surgical instruments and supplies efficiently, ensuring accurate counts before, during, and after procedures.
• Support elective and emergency surgeries across various specialties in a 23-OR and 1-procedure-room environment.
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control standards, hospital policies, and patient safety protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with the perioperative team to ensure smooth transitions between cases and optimal patient outcomes.
• Document and chart accurately using EPIC
  —experience with this system is required.
• Float as needed to support other areas within Surgical Services.

• Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
  • Note:
    
    Travelers who have worked as a Surgical Tech in New York prior to 2015 are exempt from the certification requirement.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent surgical technologist experience in a hospital setting.
• Licensure: Active New York State license (must be in hand at time of submission).
• Charting System: EPIC experience is a hard requirement
  .
• Floating: Must be willing to float within the department as needed.
• Work Hours: 52 total hours in a one-week period.
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (must reside more than 75 miles from facility).
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted and encouraged to apply.
• On-Call Requirement: 1 call shift per week and 1 weekend per month.

Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
