Job Summary
Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Behavior Analyst targets improvement of socially-significant client behaviors across a variety of domains through the delivery of Applied Behavior Analysis. The Behavior Analyst collaborates to improve service delivery and build capacity in caregivers. This position may act as a mentor to direct care staff.
The Behavior Analyst is responsible for the development and delivery of staff training.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team and program. This program will use a team based approach to support youth with IDD in their home, provide support services to the family and coordinate referrals to appropriate services.
This is a full-time (40 hours), Monday-Friday position. Primarily on day shift hours with some flexibility for occasional late afternoon or early evening meetings with clients. This is a mobile position covering Hillside's Monroe Region.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform and interpret the results of functional behavior assessments for youth.
- Develop and implement interventions that target the reduction of challenging behaviors and increase of adaptive behaviors.
- Create and implement individual behavior plans for youth as part of the interdisciplinary team.
- Collect, analyze, and present data on target behaviors as part of treatment planning process to inform data-based decision making.
- Generalize necessary skills for home or other environments in collaboration with families and other stakeholders.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of various behavior management interventions or in-home behavior management systems
- Collaborate in the ongoing development and maintenance of systems to support the practice of applied behavior analysis (e.g., data collection systems).
- Develop, maintain, and update all required documentation for regulatory compliance and in alignment with agency protocols in a timely manner.
- Develop and deliver staff training.
- May act as a mentor to direct care staff.
- Lead projects for various programs designed to elevate the practice of behavior analysis.
- Consult with and provide oversight for implementation of behavior plans with the Crisis Prevention Specialist, Youth Care Professional (YCP) and/or Skill Builder who may provide services to children and families under their guidance.
- Serve as a resource to guide team performance.

Education & Experience
- Master's degree in Behavior Analysis or qualifying related field required within 3 months of hire, with a clear path toward New York State licensure as a Licensed Behavior Analyst.
Special Requirements
- Unrestricted, valid NYS driver’s license for minimum of 1 year with a clean driving record and minimum insurance coverage that meets agency standards.

- Ability to recognize escalated youth behavior and effectively apply the continuum of crisis prevention and intervention through verbal and non‑verbal de‑escalation skills to reduce risk. This may include the use of protective interventions and physical restraints.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply functional behavior assessments and appropriate interventions to support individual plans.
- Ability to use problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards of conduct toward all.
