Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
*** Responsibilities:
** Responsible for setting up interventional radiology (IR) rooms specific to the study being conducted. Utilizes customer service skills while interacting with patients as well as family members to create a caring atmosphere during their visit.
** SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION EXERCISED:

** MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED:**
* ** Systems:
** Medical record (eRecord), PACS, Radiology Information System (RIS), patient transport, communication systems, web paging, telephone/fax, printers, Inventory Management System.
* ** Equipment:
** Wheelchairs, Stretchers, Patient beds, C-arms, Fluoro rooms, Ultrasound equipment used for IR procedures, ablation / cryo units, patient transfer assist devices (slider boards, lifts, hover mats), Image post processing equipment.
** TYPICAL DUTIES:
*** Prepares room and patient specific to the exam to be performed.
* Arranges equipment, trays, supplies, position patients, and determine proper exposure factors in order to produce a high-quality image.
* Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider. Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure.
* Observes each patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to meet his or her age-specific needs.
* Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider.
* Transfers patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices such as ARJO lift, transfer boards, hover mats.
* Scrubs with physicians as required.
* Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
* Completes and bills for studies accurately

* QUALIFICATIONS:

*** Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology. Maintains current NYS licensure and ARRT certification with CE credits as required. One-year experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred

** There are three bands which are differentiated by level of independence, supervision required, certification, ability to precept new employees in the use of all equipment, and the ability to lead and meet established departmental goals.
Band One (I):
Non-Certified IR Technologist - Technologists new to the IR Department who require training as well as regular direct supervision and guidance from a more senior technologist. This generally involves orientation to the Departments infrastructure, policies, protocols, workflows, procedures and routines. During this period the Technologists must demonstrate an ability to progress towards proficient and competent performance with regards to interventional procedures, fluoroscopy room equipment, digital subtraction, inventory, power injections and post processing…
