Assist respiratory staff with routine medical procedures, maintain related hospital equipment, and perform clerical duties under licensed and credentialed respiratory staff. Move heavy items such as supplies and equipment and work in an environment with exposure to odors, fumes, infections, and fluctuating room temperatures. Report directly to and work under general supervision from the Cardiopulmonary Services Manager. Do related work as required.

• Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:
  • One (1) year of full‑time or part‑time equivalent experience working in a hospital, acute care facility or home care company assisting respiratory staff with administering treatments or procedures such as respiratory therapy treatments, electrocardiograms (EKG’s), Holter Monitoring, and Pacemaker checks OR maintaining respiratory equipment; OR
  • Successful completion of at least 6 semester‑credit college hours in Respiratory Therapy from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university: OR
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
