Speech Language Pathologist - Outpatient Clinic at CP Rochester. CP Rochester and Happiness House are private nonprofit health, educational, residential and human service organizations serving communities in the Finger Lakes Region and Greater Rochester Area. Our agencies offer educational, therapeutic, recreational, residential and family support programs and services for children and adults with and without disabilities. Location: CP Rochester - Winton Road Facility, Rochester, NY
Compensation and ScheduleAnnual Salary commensurate with experience:
Licensed SLP: $61,600 - $78,000
Employment: Full-time. Days and hours Monday through Friday during business hours. Evening work may be required as job duties demand.
SummaryResponsible for the diagnosis and treatment of speech and/or language disorders of the individuals enrolled in or referred to CP.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- New York State License in Speech Pathology or be eligible for a New York State License in Speech Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association preferred.
- Current knowledge of the principles and methods of prevention, assessment, and intervention for people with communication and swallowing disorders, including consideration of anatomical/physiological, psychological, developmental, and linguistic and cultural correlates.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills.
- Valid NYS Driver's License.
- Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

- Promotes the CP Rochester and Happiness House Vision, Mission and Philosophy.
- Upholds NYS Education Law/Practice Act related to speech therapy.
- Maintains confidentiality of information per agency policy.
- Performs evaluations to determine need for speech therapy services.
- Ensures valid prescriptions for all individuals on caseload.
- Carries out treatment plans in clinic settings and associated programs as necessary.
- Consults with teachers, habilitation staff and other interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated services.
- Works with guardians/parents as integral team members in clinic, day habilitation or school settings as needed.
- Communicates with physicians and other medical personnel to facilitate evaluation and treatment.
- Completes all paperwork per agency, program and department policies and guidelines; understands EHR and Medicare/Medicaid regulations for documentation.
- Attends team, discipline and staff meetings as designated.
- Maintains an orderly and safe treatment area.
- Advises Supervisor regarding equipment needs and replacements.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team and Program Supervisor on program modifications for caseload needs.
- Establishes short- and long-term objectives for each individual.
- Provides individual and/or group therapy at various certified sites and off-site locations as assigned, upon physician's prescription.
- Provides in-service education to CP staff, caretakers and other groups as requested.
- Participates in program planning, development, research and evaluation as directed; may supervise university-affiliated students as assigned.
- Adheres to agency policies and department guidelines; participates in committees, conferences, workshops and trainings as needed.
- Performs other duties at the discretion of the President/CEO or designee.
None. May supervise a Speech Language Pathologist intern from an accredited institution periodically.
