Insero Talent Solutions is thrilled to partner with a nonprofit in its search for a Finance Manager to join its growing team.
The Finance Manager is a newly created, hands‑on role responsible for the financial management and integrity of the organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, financial reporting, grant tracking, cash flow management, and internal financial controls.
This role is ideal for a self‑directed, analytical professional who thrives in a lean environment, can operate autonomously with minimal oversight, and is motivated to strengthen financial infrastructure while identifying cost‑saving opportunities that support mission delivery.
Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting- Oversee full‑cycle accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and monthly close.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
- Maintain integrity of financial records in accordance with GAAP (nonprofit accounting standards preferred).
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards and reporting tools to support CEO.
- Lead annual budgeting process and ongoing forecast updates.
- Present financial updates and analysis to CEO and Board as needed.
- Monitor and manage organizational cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity.
- Develop cash projections and scenario planning models.
- Establish and strengthen internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.
- Manage banking relationships and oversee reconciliations.
- Track restricted and unrestricted funding sources.
- Monitor grant budgets, allocations, and reporting requirements.
- Prepare financial reports for grantors and funding agencies.
- Ensure compliance with grant restrictions and nonprofit financial regulations.
- Support audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors or accountants.
- Identify cost‑saving measures and operational efficiencies across the organization.
- Analyze program‑level financial performance and sustainability.
- Support strategic planning initiatives with financial modeling and scenario analysis.
- Improve financial systems, reporting processes, and workflow efficiencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience; nonprofit experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with nonprofit audits and Form 990 preparation preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing full‑cycle accounting independently.
- Strong proficiency in Quick Books (or similar accounting software).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling).
- Experience with grant management and restricted fund tracking.
- Ability to work autonomously in a lean, resource‑constrained environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
