Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Rochester, New York. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting overall accounting operations. Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.

- Manage sales tax filings and related documentation.

- Record financial transactions by creating and maintaining journal entries.

- Reconcile general ledger accounts to maintain accurate financial records.

- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

- Analyze financial data to support decision-making and reporting.

- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting procedures.

- Monitor tax regulations and implement necessary updates to maintain compliance.

- Provide support during audits by organizing and presenting relevant financial information. Requirements - Proficiency in corporate tax processes, including tax preparation and compliance.

- Solid understanding of sales tax regulations and filings.

- Experience with preparing corporate tax returns.

- Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

- Familiarity with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.

- Effective communication and organizational abilities.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
