Reliant Community Federal Credit Union, ranked one of Rochester's top mid‑size companies for eight consecutive years, seeks a Mortgage Originator to serve members across our Monroe, Wayne, and Ontario County branches.

The role involves daily origination of residential mortgages, including client interviews, explaining mortgage options, matching needs to credit union products, and guiding applicants through the mortgage application process.

N.Y. – Multiple Locations (Monroe, Wayne, and Ontario Counties)*

Full‑time based on business needs.

• Achieve defined mortgage production goals.
• Participate in the daily origination and documentation of residential mortgages.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of mortgage requests and related paperwork.
• Prospect, develop, and maintain referral relationships with realtors, attorneys, branch staff, and other key constituent groups to source business.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Broad knowledge of the mortgage industry and lending practices; understanding of secondary market underwriting and quality standards.
• Functional understanding of FHA, VA, SONYMA, USDA, and conventional mortgage program guidelines.
• Ability to work outside traditional office hours.
• Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills.
• Demonstrated record of positive customer service performance.

Position

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years secondary market mortgage origination experience.
• Established referral source network.
• Experience with a mortgage loan origination system.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.

• Regular use of standard office equipment (keyboard, monitor, telephone).
• Ability to travel within the Credit Union's geographic service area, with a valid NYS driver’s license and dependable transportation.

• Ability to work remotely.
