Job Description:

The Calibration Technician performs a range of tasks across electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical disciplines. Responsibilities include conducting calibration and alignment checks, making required adjustments or repairs, and troubleshooting equipment, components, and systems. This role works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions. The technician records data in prescribed formats and maintains asset information within online systems.

Essential Functions:

• Utilize test and diagnostic equipment to calibrate, diagnose, and repair equipment including working standards

• Maintain detailed documentation in the calibration database, including asset status, location, calibration outcomes, and special requirements

• Perform operational checks on assets and test equipment following external factory calibration

• Review third party calibration certificates for completeness, accuracy, and potential risks or data concerns

• Maintain compliance with ESD (electrostatic discharge) controls

• Perform periodic maintenance of laboratory standards used to support calibration activities

• Ability to obtain US Government security clearance

Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience;
Or, a post secondary/Associate's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience Preferred Additional

Skills:

• Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters, signal generators, power supplies, and specialty tools used for instrument gauges

• Experience required in several of the following areas: AC/DC, frequency counters, power sensors, RF power, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, PXI, PXIe, SCXI, torque, pressure, temperature, Lab Master, force, fiber optics, National Instruments Calibration Executive, HP Vee, Sure Cal, Fluke Runtime, Met Team, counters, oscilloscopes, DAQ, generators, microwave, avionics, dimensional measurement, HP Basic

• Knowledge of general metrology practices and standards

• Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, effective time management, attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $54,500-$101,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
