Your Opportunity
As an Intern, you will work as a team member on small and large Civil Engineering projects under the guidance and supervision of a senior engineer/designer. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations, drawing preparation, and fieldwork. The projects that an intern/Co-op may be assigned to may be broad, varied, and diverse in scope. From residential and commercial developments to industrial, recreational, resort, and institutional projects, our experience is broad.
This is a terrific opportunity for a college student to support a few exciting local and national projects.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Assist engineers in the preparation of contract documents.
- Support a project team in the development of design documentation, plans, and reports for relevant project design elements.
- Help to collect topographic data in the field.
- Perform calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
- Design and drafting, review of drawings and calculations, and field inspection.
- Tasks will include exposure to AutoCAD, Civil3D, Hydro
CAD, and Micro Station.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Minimum requirements include Microsoft Office Suite and some exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D Design programs.
- Enthusiastic, and motivated to learn and develop technical skills.
- Ability to collaborate with professionals and work independently.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Education and Experience
- Enrolled in an engineering or geomatics program working toward earning a bachelor's degree (minimum).
- Specific coursework or exposure to one or more of the following:
Planning, grading design, utility infrastructure, stormwater management, surveying and construction management.
Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
