Job Summary
An Electrical Technician is needed in the Rochester, NY area for an American corporation that supplies equipment, services, and software for the manufacture of semiconductor chips for electronics, flat panel displays for computers, smartphones, televisions, and solar products. This role is focused on maintaining lab infrastructure, troubleshooting complex power systems, and coordinating technical deliveries for cutting‑edge semiconductor manufacturing automation.
Location: Rochester, New York
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $50.00 – $56.73 per hour
Work Hours: 8am to 5pm
Education: Associate's degree
- Acting as a liaison between development teams and business units to coordinate schedules and feature feedback.
- Managing lab environments for embedded development, RF, and power electronics.
- Operating, maintaining, and modifying process power technology for RF product experimentation.
- Troubleshooting equipment failures and complex experimental design issues.
- Providing proactive status updates and technical reports to stakeholders.
- Compiling and assessing data for operational meetings and specialized analysis.
- Enforcing and complying with strict laboratory safety procedures.
- Applying analytical reasoning to solve complex problems by looking at existing solutions from new perspectives.
- Supporting machining, fabrication, and circuit design tasks.
- Performing circuit debugging and rework using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and network analyzers.
- Reading and interpreting intricate electrical schematics and RF circuit diagrams.
- Working independently with minimal supervision to meet project goals and schedule commitments.
- Familiarity with reading/interpreting electrical schematics and basic electrical/RF circuits.
- Demonstrated ability to work on highly complex systems comprised of many sub‑systems.
- Critical thinker with excellent analytical skills, as well as troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong sense of curiosity to drive self‑motivation to learn new skills and challenging technologies.
- Demonstrated self‑management skills; proven ability to meet objectives, goals, and schedule commitments with minimal supervision.
- Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
- Works within broad guidelines and policies.
- Associate's degree and 10+ years of experience, or
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in a technical field covering electrical/RF discipline.
