Job Description:

The Assembly Integration Focus Factory of L3

Harris Space and Airborne Systems in Rochester, New York, is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Engineering Technician. This role requires the timely execution of assigned tasks as an individual contributor, as well as effective collaboration within a team in a low-volume, high-precision manufacturing environment. The technician will work closely with engineering teams on the fabrication and integration of optical, mechanical, composite and electronic components.

Ideal candidates must possess a strong mechanical aptitude, keen attention to detail for hardware handling and traceability, and relevant experience in similar roles. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication, and teamwork skills. Essential Functions:

* Perform work in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.

* Read engineering drawings/blueprints/schematics and detailed work instructions.

* Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation.

* Ability to work with fragile and precise assemblies.

* Assist with identifying problems and suggesting solutions.

* Adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices.

* Work with a variety of hand tools and specialized equipment.

* Must be proficient with measuring tools (verniers, calipers, scales, etc.)

* Willingness to work overtime, shift work, weekends, holidays and some travel.

* Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be willing to submit to a background investigation, as a government security clearance might be required for this position.

* Ability to work overtime/weekends/shifts as needed.

Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or experience in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.
Preferred Additional

Skills:

* Experience in an Electrical/Mechanical/Optical discipline.
* Aerospace or Defense industry experience.

* Experience with CMM and/or Laser Tracker measurement tools.

* Experience with shop equipment including but not limited to Mills, Lathes, Grinders, and precision measuring equipment.

* Lean Manufacturing practices.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $45,000-$84,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
