*** Responsibilities:
** Specializes in designing and improving mechanical systems, components, and products. Leads projects and teams, and often works on complex, high-impact projects. Acts as a resource for new or lower level engineers.

We are in search of a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in design engineering. The candidate will provide engineering solutions to a diverse range of complex technical problems throughout LLE. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of machine component design, materials, knowledge of manufacturing processes and experience with complex mechanical systems. Experience in opto-mechanics, precision mechanics, tool and fixture design, high vacuum systems, heat transfer, motion control, and/or precision metrology is desired.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES    - Develop conceptual and detailed designs of mechanical parts and assemblies based on project requirements.
- Provide supporting safety and engineering analyses as required.
- Prepare materials for engineering design reviews.
- Prepare technical drawings in compliance with industry standards.
- Work both independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- BSME with 5+ years industry experience.
- Proficient with CAD software, Siemens NX preferred.
- Competent with FEA software
