Steel Inspector

Whitestone Associates, Inc., a 100% employee-owned company and leading provider of environmental and geotechnical engineering and consulting services throughout the eastern US, is currently recruiting for a Steel Inspector to join our team. We are seeking an experienced Steel Inspector to perform construction phase testing and inspection of structural steel and welding at various client sites throughout the region. The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of experience in structural steel inspection and welding inspection.

• Conduct construction phase testing and inspection of structural steel and welding at various client sites;
• Inspect timber framing installations;
• Assist with other special inspections as needed; and
• Travel to project sites as required.

• American Welding Society - Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required;
• Non-destructive testing proficiency in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) required;
• Timber framing inspection experience;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite;
• Comfortable working at heights;
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; and
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

• Prior experience with geotechnical and/or environmental field investigation;
• Prior experience with structural steel construction and fabrication;
• UT Inspector Certification
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification; and
• ACI, AASHTO, or ICC certifications.
• The estimated range for this position is $28/hr to $37/hr
