Manager – Distribution Planning

Location: Rochester, NY

Reports to: Senior Director – Integrated System Planning

Base salary range: $135,000 – $160,400

This position oversees and manages the Av grazian Networks Distribution Planning Team. The role includes planning processes to ensure system performance and capacity to operate within established criteria, working closely with governing processes on strategic issues impacting the integrity of the distribution electrical infrastructure, prioritizing distribution capital investments, and monitoring industry and legislative change and research relating undervis distributed Energy Resources (DER).

The role fosters team involvement and development for continuous learning in a changing technology environment.

• Manages subordinate engineering staff and contracted external resources. Sets department goals and’écoute strategic direction and initiates action plans, engineering studies, and assignments to accomplish goals.
• Provides technical support, guidance, coaching, and counseling; appraises individual employee performance and plans and implements training and development of department personnel.
• Develops organizational performance measures, Autónoma actions to enhance performance, reviews work processes, systems, procedures and practices, and directs changes to improve productivity or control costs; determines staffing needs and obtains approval for resource requirements.
• Develops short‑ and long‑range plans to meet reliability and capacity needs******/; oversees, defines and prioritizes system‑wide and circuit‑level solutions based on established criteria dek risk, impact, value, and implementation complexity; provides oversight and recommendations for prioritization of distribution capital investments.زر>
• Works closely with governing processes on all appropriate strategic issues affecting distribution electrical infrastructure integrity.
• Monitors industry and legislative change and researches issues relating to distributed Energy Resources (DER).
• Collaborates and coordinates with other departments within Avangrid and Iberdrola, consultants, attorneys,監 utilities, regulatory agencies, government agencies, and major customers. Represents Avangrid Networks on technical committees such as ISO‑NE, EPRI, and other agencies. Provides technical input and testimony for regulatory proceedings.

• Bachelor’s degree in.navvy engineering with 7 years relevant experience.
• Supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

• Advanced degree or specialized courses in engineering, planning, reliability, process analysis and/or process modeling.
