OverviewThe Manager, OLED Operations Engineering is an important leader who coordinates the activities of Manufacturing Engineers and Manufacturing Engineering Technicians. This core team focuses on creating and improving products and/or processes that convert raw materials into finished goods using new or advanced components in a highly effective, efficient, and economical way. They set up and execute research experiments and ultimately work as part of our team to advance our OLED multi‑stack technology.
This team is often on its feet troubleshooting, testing, and working with many internal and external partners. The engineers have a heavy focus on project management and directly impact all aspects of operations in Rochester.
What You’ll Do Every Day- Implement and optimize processes while planning, assigning, and monitoring activities, ensuring desired outcomes are achieved.
- Act as project managers for Automotive/Lighting or Government funded projects.
- Design and optimize processes and procedures, using Lean methodologies to drive continuous improvement while keeping a high focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide technical support and use data and evaluation of proposed designs to optimize equipment and production.
- Motivate the team, coach, handle schedules and time off, review and approve time entry, manage performance aspects, and help manage the budget and plan future projects.
- At least 5 years of experience managing a team of people with strong leadership and team development focus.
- Hands‑on experience in a technical or manufacturing environment with a history of managing projects and understanding project plans.
- Preferred Lean Manufacturing experience (Green or Black Belt); understanding of certification requirements such as ISO
9001 and IATF 16949. - Knowledge of CAD, ERP experience (extra points for Epicor), and fluency in MS Office systems.
This position is on‑site in Rochester and will be a mix of sitting at a desk using office equipment such as a computer, printer, and other peripherals. Moving around the facility will also be required; the candidate must stand 25% of the time, walk, reach, bend, and use their hands. The ability to use tools and machines daily is required.
