Base pay range$75,000.00/yr - $/yr
Position OverviewJoin Keuka Studios as a Mid-Level CAD Designer/Engineer to drive custom railing and stair projects from concept to fabrication. Based in Rush, NY, you'll own core design elements in a collaborative setting, blending technical modeling with client consultations.
Key Responsibilities- Review project details with sales, email customers for clarifications, and prepare designs for approval; manage multiple projects independently.
- Process laser scans (we can teach you this), model existing structures, and design new elements in Solid Works.
- Specify materials/fastenings:
Conduct basic FEA for stability; consult team on details (e.g., flooring) and present rendering options. - Support complex elements:
Collaborate on stairs with external PEs for calculations; deliver preliminary drawings/renderings. - Finalize production:
Create detailed part drawings and BOMs; release to shop and resolve fabrication issues. - Provide customer support:
Guide installs via Zoom and assist with on-site discussions (travel up to 30%).
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent (3-5 years of experience in CAD/design).
- Advanced Solid Works skills.
- Experience with laser scanning, FEA (e.g., Simulation), and rendering, a plus but not required.
- Proven ability to iterate designs and collaborate with architects/builders.
- Comfort with travel and client-facing communication.
- Familiarity with metal fabrication processes.
