Full Time (35 hours per week), beginning at an annual salary of: $63,000/annual

JOB PURPOSE:
Administer the New York State assessment program for schools throughout the Diocese; manage the FACTS Student Information System for schools throughout the Diocese; manage school access and programming for the iReady diagnostic and instruction tools; manage the oversight of the Level 0 Data warehouse for all Diocesan schools; generate Assessment performance reports through WNYRIC Level 1 and assist schools in interpreting data;
act as the liaison between the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools and Diocesan schools; provide leadership and support to school administrators in implementing assessment programs; coordinate the planning and implementation of all diocesan staff development experiences for Catholic schools; serve as a resource to administrators and teachers in the area of staff development; ensure Catholic school participation in available and appropriate government programs;
coordinate and promote the use of educational technology in all schools.
CORE FUNCTIONS:
- Manage and direct the New York State assessment programs in grades 3-6 to include updates, training, scoring and reporting.
- Manage and direct the NYS testing program with M.A.A.R.S. to include initial student data entry, processing documents and school report generation and dissemination.
- Compile reports on student test scores through Level 1 WNYRIC and provide guidance to schools on interpreting school and student performance.
- Collaborate with the Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction in using test results to strengthen academic programs and instruction.
- Provide guidance and conduct training sessions as needed for principals and teachers in assessment procedures associated with the NYS testing program.
- Manage and direct the regional scoring for the NYS ELA and Math tests in grades 3-6 to include planning, scoring and delivery of answer sheets to MAARS.
- Coordinate revisions in the Diocesan report card to incorporate changes to NYS Learning Standards generated by the NYS Education Department.
- Research and report best practices in classroom assessment.
- Manage the Student Information System (FACTS) and iReady (Curriculum Associates) programs in coordination with the Information Technology Department. Coordinate input in the system for grades PK-6 with all Diocesan schools to include enrollment, NYS reporting, report card generation, and FACTS grade book usage in grades PK-6.
- Work closely with the Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction to promote academic excellence in all schools.
- Offer consultation to school regarding staff development.
- Coordinate diocesan in-service opportunities including, but not limited to Fall Conference Day, Principals’ Workshops, Teacher/Principal Orientations and Trainings.
- Manage the development of annual school calendar and administrator’s calendar. Review and approve all Diocesan school calendars upon submission to Catholic Schools Office.
- Update the Catholic Schools directory yearly to reflect current school information and distribute the directory to the schools, parishes, Pastoral Center departments and outside agencies.
- Act as Diocesan Catholic Schools liaison, in coordination with the Coordinator of Middle States Accreditation, to oversee accreditation renewal and reporting requirements
- Coordinate and promote educational technology in the Catholic Schools, including:
- Educational technology training for school administrators, school staff and teachers as it relates to assessment programs and report cards.
- FACTS grade book for all teachers in Grades PK3-6.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Superintendent of Schools.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/
EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in education or related discipline (Master’s Degree preferred).
- 3 to 5 years experience in areas related to assessment and/or staff development.
- Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data.
- Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills.
- Active member of Roman Catholic faith community.
- Ability to attend evening meetings and work a twelve-month schedule.
- Reliable transportation; ability to travel throughout the Diocese.
