• Valid NYS Teaching Certification in Music Education (preferred)

• Valid NYS Teaching Certification in Music Education (preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field
• Experience Teaching Elementary-aged Students (K5 Preferred)
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to establish routines quickly
• Knowledge of elementary music pedagogy
• Experience leading vocal and/or instrumental ensembles
• Strong communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Ability to collaborate with grade-level teams and support school-wide initiatives
• Proficiency with music technology and instructional tools (e.g., Smart Board, Google Classroom, Seesaw, etc.)
• Commitment to creating an inclusive, culturally responsive music classroom
• Flexible, positive, and student-centered mindset

• Deliver engaging, standards-based music instruction to students in grades K5
• Implement existing curriculum plans and pacing guides while maintaining instructional continuity
• Prepare students for school performances, assemblies, and special events as needed
• Establish and maintain a structured, safe, and positive classroom environment
• Maintain classroom materials, instruments, and equipment responsibly
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and administration
• Communicate with families regarding student progress and classroom updates
• Support school-wide expectations and behavior systems
• Participate in faculty meetings and professional responsibilities as appropriate
