Minimum Requirements

Internal Candidates Only

• New York State Teaching Assistant OR Teacher Certification
• Must Be Available To Work The Entire Summer Session

Dates: July 9 (7-hr day for staff only), July 13-August 17 (RSS/CRSS Classes). No Classes on Friday 7/10, 7/17, 7/24, 7/31, 8/7, 8/14. August 18-August 19 (Regents Exams)

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Must be flexible, responsible, and dependable
• Ability to work independently with students and with groups of students and staff
• Daily attendance is expected

• Provides direct instruction to individual students or small groups of students under the general supervision of a certified teacher in support of the instructional plan
• Assists pupils in the use of available instructional resources and in the development of instructional materials
• Utilizes their own special skills and abilities by assisting in instructional programs in such areas as academic subjects, language other than English, arts, and special subjects
• Assists in related instructional work as required (including copying)
• Supervises computer lab and bus duty
• May assist students with disabilities with their daily activities
• Must be able to build relationships with students

• The ability to walk at will based upon student needs and/or activities
• The ability to alternate between standing or sitting at will based upon student needs and/or activities
• The ability to stoop and/or kneel at will based upon student needs and/or activities
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
