The Community Place of Greater Rochester, Inc. (CPGR) is a nonprofit organization committed to ensuring that everyone has access to equitable health, economic, and social opportunities. Based in Rochester, NY, CPGR serves residents of Northeast Rochester and the surrounding area by offering a broad range of social, developmental, and educational programs. As a prominent neighborhood-based community center, it empowers individuals and strengthens the community through growth and stability.

With a rich history rooted in the merger of three local organizations, CPGR continues to honor its legacy while advancing the settlement house movement in Rochester.

Role Description

The Prevention Educator will be responsible for creating and delivering educational programs focused on prevention and wellness. Key duties will include planning engaging lessons, communicating with community members, leading interactive teaching sessions, and providing training on various topics. As a full-time position, this role requires on-site work at The Community Place's facilities in Rochester, NY.

Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Lesson Planning and Education to develop and deliver impactful educational programs
  • Proven ability in Communication and Teaching to interact effectively with diverse groups and relay critical information clearly
  • Experience in Training to support skill development and empower community members
  • Knowledge of community-focused initiatives or public health is desirable
  • A bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field is preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site environment and with diverse populations
