Overview
Summer 2026 Reading & Math Camp Program Coordinator (Posting #1450). Penfield is seeking a Program Coordinator for the three-week Summer Reading and Math Camp for students needing extra support with reading and math.
Responsibilities To Be Completed In The Spring- Collaborate with Executive Director for Humanities and Innovative Learning/STEM to finalize list of students invited to attend the program.
- Contact parents to determine their interest and gain commitment to the program. Work with the Registrar’s office to track which students are attending. Balance numbers across two sessions and reading/math as needed.
- Develop schedules for students attending both programs.
- Establish drop-off and pick-up procedures and protocols for families providing their own transportation.
- Field questions and concerns from parents.
- Work with custodial staff to ensure proper set-up of camp.
- Communicate with selected teachers for Summer Reading and Math Camp.
- Set up structure for Camps, including the establishment of instructional groups and gathering of student performance data on camp attendees.
- Oversee reading and math instructional program from 8:30-10:00 and 10:15-11:45, providing modeling, teaching and co-teaching as necessary; providing feedback to teachers; managing student issues.
- Oversee student drop-off and pick-up procedure.
- Facilitate parent informational session on Day 1 of camp (July 20), as well as future communications with parents (letters, newsletters, etc.).
- Solve problems and make decisions on a daily basis to keep the program running efficiently and effectively.
- One day for orientation of staff and planning. Date, TBD.
- Three 4-day weeks from 8:00AM-12:00PM (Weeks of July 20-23, July 27-July 30, and August 3-6)
- $3,500 stipend
- Leadership experience
- Familiar with best instructional practices associated with the Next Generation Learning Standards for ELA and Math in grades K-5
- Commit to ALL dates listed above, as well as ALL hours listed above (8:00AM-12:00PM).
