Nazareth Elementary School is accepting resumes for a PK3 teacher for the 2025‑26 school year. This is a full‑time position. The teacher must be NYS certified or working on certification and have a love for children, working with a diverse student population in a faith‑filled learning environment.
ResponsibilitiesFostering a safe and engaging learning environment for young children, planning and implementing age‑appropriate activities, and communicating with parents about their child’s development. The teacher manages classroom activities, maintains a clean and organized space, and supports the overall learning experience.
Curriculum and Instruction- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the preschool curriculum.
- Teach basic skills such as colors, shapes, letters, and numbers.
- Organize and lead activities that promote physical, mental, and social development.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individual learning styles and needs.
- Integrate play‑based learning, storytelling, and creative arts into lessons.
- Establish and enforce classroom rules and procedures.
- Active supervision throughout the day.
- Create a positive and nurturing learning environment.
- Manage classroom activities, including transitions, meals, and playtime.
- Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and organized.
- Monitor children’s behavior and address any issues that arise.
- Observe and assess children’s progress and development.
- Identify children who may need additional support and communicate with parents and supervisors.
- Supervise children during free play, outdoor activities, and nap time.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress and development.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and implement curriculum.
- Participate in parent‑teacher conferences and other meetings.
- Assist in providing opportunities for parental/guardian involvement within the school.
- A passion for teaching.
- PreK or Early Childhood NYS certification.
- Teaching experience required.
