Elementary General Education Teacher (2026/2027 School Year)
Join the Gates Chili Central School District as an Elementary General Education Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. PurposeUnder the general supervision of the Building Administrator, the teacher will facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district-approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress, addressing specific educational needs of individual students, and creating a culturally inviting, flexible, safe, and optimal learning environment. The teacher will provide feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals.
Compensation& Benefits
Pay Range: $43,500 (negotiable based on experience)

Full-time (10‑month work‑student calendar) 7 hour 40 minute day including a duty‑free lunch of 35 minutes.
Essential Functions- Administers elementary curriculum consistent with District goals and objectives.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is culturally diverse, safe, and conducive to individualized and small‑group instruction and student learning.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials according to NYS Standards.
- Instructs students in core subjects and other subject matters.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge by attending professional development opportunities.
- Organizes and maintains accurate grading and attendance records as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
- Encourages parent/guardian involvement and ensures effective communication with students and families.
- Ensures that student conduct conforms with school and district policies and establishes classroom behavior standards.
- Coordinates with other professional staff and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
- Selects and requests appropriate instructional materials and maintains inventory records.
- Administers standardized tests according to District testing programs.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Administrator and other district office administrators.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy.
- Knowledge of elementary curriculum and concepts.
- Knowledge of data information systems, analysis, and action planning.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state education laws.
- Ability to use computer network systems and software applications.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to engage in self‑evaluation regarding performance and professional growth.
- Ability to engage culturally diverse students.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with stakeholders.
- Certification/License: NYS Certification as an Elementary Teacher.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related discipline;
Master’s preferred. - Experience: Prior teaching experience at appropriate grade levels; experience working with diverse populations is desired.
