The “
International Students Research Program
” is a flagship initiative of the University of Rochester Department of Chemistry that offers high‑achieving students from around the world an exceptional opportunity to conduct first‑class research at the University of Rochester. The summer program is exclusively designed for outstanding students currently pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in Chemistry or related fields such as computer science, engineering, biology, or physics, etc.,

and who intend to pursue a PhD in Chemistry in the United States.

The duration of the summer programme is 2 months, which will run from June 1 to July 31, 2026. During the summer program, participants will have an opportunity to gain hands‑on research experience while conducting cutting‑edge research under the supervision of a chemistry department faculty member. Beyond research, the participants will also have a chance to attend seminar series, workshops, poster events, and networking events.

The summer program offers generous support to the selected students, covering all program‑related costs,

Individuals meeting the following criteria are invited to submit applications for the UOR Summer Research program:

• The summer program is open to all nationals
• Students are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree
• Students must be pursuing their degree outside the United States
• Academic background with a focus on chemistry or related fields such as engineering, biology, computer science, physics, etc.
• The program is highly competitive, and students with exceptional academic achievements are encouraged to apply
• Intend to pursue a PhD in Chemistry in the United States

• Students pursuing a PhD degree or who have completed it are not eligible
• Students who are not planning to pursue their Phd
• Currently pursuing their degree program in the United States
• Not having excellent academic standing

The summer student research program offers comprehensive support to students, which includes:

• A competitive weekly stipend to cover the living expenses in the USA
• On‑campus accommodation
• Travel coverage up to $1,250
• Student registration and tuition fees waiver
• Students will gain hands‑on research experience while conducting intensive first‑class research in state‑of‑the‑art facilities under the supervision of renowned faculty.
• Mentorship and guidance from the institute faculty
• Interact with students and faculty to gain valuable guidance & insights
• Networking opportunities through various social events
• Assistance in securing a US visa to attend the program

• Unofficial degree transcripts (Current and previous attended institutes)
• CV/Resume in PDF format
• Two Letters of Recommendation need to be submitted by the recommenders
