The Division of Bariatric/GI Surgery of the Department of Surgery at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry located at Highland Hospital is seeking a Medical Bariatrician to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care in a progressive outpatient setting, focusing on obesity medicine. The role includes teaching residents, fellows and medical students while fostering long-lasting relationships with patients from diverse backgrounds.

The successful candidate will contribute to the busy, well established, comprehensive, multidisciplinary Bariatric Surgery program.

The U of R is located in Rochester, New York and is surrounded by world class culture, affordable housing and nationally ranked public schools. The City of Rochester is a mecca for the arts: home to a philharmonic orchestra, wonderful museums including the Strong National Museum of Play, internationally recognized dance companies as well as The Eastman School of Music. The Rochester International Jazz Festival is one of the top 10 Jazz festivals in the nation.

The region boasts access to great watersports both on Lake Ontario as well as the Finger Lakes. The Finger Lakes region is also home to many internationally known wineries.

Candidates must have completed medical school receiving an MD or equivalent. Must be eligible for a full NYS medical license.

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process
