Rochester,New York is hiring a Supervising Director who is responsible for researching, planning, managing, and producing news programming.
Oversee daily Production Department operations, ensuring all assigned responsibilities are being completed and meet broadcast standards
Work closely with News Producers, Photographers, Engineers, and other Directors to enhance our final on-air product
Be self-sufficient, managing multiple projects with competing priorities.
Code live and prerecorded productions using Ross Over Drive and ENPS, as well as Edit with technical proficiency using Adobe Premiere
Build and Stream for live and prerecorded productions using OBS Studio
Identify and effectively solve problems, making last-minute decisions under tight deadlines and high pressure.
Schedule staff, evaluate job performance, and identify areas for growth
Train Directors in all job expectations, policies, procedures and good practices, congruent with Nexstar’s Company Policy and FCC Guidelines
Perform other requests and duties as necessary
Bachelor’s degree in communications, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience is preferred
Management or other work-related experience is preferred
Experience in news operations and/or production required
Experience with cross-platform live streaming is preferred
Ross Over Drive, ENPS, Adobe Premiere and OBS experience a plus
Demonstrate excellent communication skills; fluent in English, oral and written
Strong interpersonal, organizational and computer skills is preferred
Available to work all shifts (mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays), as well as extended hours as assigned
Valid driver’s license and good driving record is required
Compensation: $20-21.15/hour commensuratewithapplicant’sexperience and skill level.
