The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for prospecting and development of new customer base that is consistent with the operational direction of Empire Precision Plastics. He or she may also be requested to increase the base of business within existing accounts.
Essential Functions:- Identify, target and engage prospects that fit Empire’s account profile.
- Create strategic and tactical account plans aimed at achieving revenue and profit contribution objections. Manage and drive customer success strategy.
- Pursue business opportunities that optimize existing resources and minimize the need for additional capital expenditures.
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and close deals. Meet or exceed revenue objectives and achieve expense goals.
- Provide accurate forecast including risk and opportunities.
- Embrace and drive activity using a sales process (including dashboard & CRM).
- Manage all customer communications to the appropriate support teams.
- Drive projects to successful launch working with Program Managers and plant teams.
- Track quoting status and keep data current.
- Update pricing to existing customers based on issues with legacy pricing, changes in material prices, effects of continuous improvement efforts, etc. as requested.
- Excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in robust mold design and build cost.
- Must have a sound understanding of business principles and Industry knowledge.
- Must understand the terminology and fundamentals of injection and scientific molding required.
- Demonstrate solid decision-making skills and value centered approach to business conduct.
- Ability to focus on productive outcomes: consistently follow through on executing commitments.
- Proven negotiating skills to facilitate contracts and close profitable business.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven business development experience within the industry.
- Willingness to travel with overnight stays.
