Open Positions Junior BuyerDuties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in evaluating and selecting vendors based on price, quality, reliability, and service.
- Create and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in specifications, pricing, and terms.
- Assist with material quoting used to create customer quotes.
- Monitor order status and follow up with suppliers on confirmations, shipping details, and delivery schedules.
- Resolve routine discrepancies related to shipments, invoices, or purchase order data.
- Support the maintenance of vendor records, pricing histories, and purchasing documentation.
- Collaborate with senior buyers, sales, and inventory teams to align purchasing activities with demand.
- Track inventory levels and reorder materials based on established guidelines.
- Input purchasing data accurately into DBA (ERP system)
- Assist with RMA processing, past-due orders, and delivery issues under supervision.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience &
Education:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 1–2 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience (internship or entry-level acceptable).
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Knowledge & Skills
- Required:
- Basic understanding of purchasing processes and supplier management.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and team interaction.
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow within the role.
- Analytical mindset with basic problem‑solving ability.
Confidentiality:
The Junior Buyer may be exposed to confidential company information relating to vendor/customer relationships, products, organizational growth strategies and company strategic plans. A high degree of confidentiality is required.
This position requires the individual to be on‑site at the Simcona Manufacturing Office location and may involve some travel to visit suppliers. This is NOT a remote work position. Overtime may be required when program schedules are challenged.
