Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Rochester, New York. This role involves managing various aspects of accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and supporting the overall efficiency of the accounting department. Responsibilities:

- Process invoices by matching, batching, and coding them accurately.

- Enter financial data into the general ledger and ensure all entries are precise.

- Address inquiries related to accounts payable and provide timely resolutions.

- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions.

- Assist in reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies as needed.

- Collaborate with team members to streamline accounts payable workflows.

- Verify and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures for payments.

- Support month-end close activities by preparing relevant documentation.

- Communicate with vendors to clarify payment details and resolve any issues.

- Provide administrative support to the accounting department when necessary. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.

- Proficiency in financial software and general ledger systems.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

- Strong communication skills for interacting with vendors and team members.

- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

- Familiarity with the rental and leasing services industry is a plus.
