Job Title: Construction Bookkeeper

Location: Rochester, NY

Job Type: 25-35 hours per week

Pay Rate: $22-$30/hr.

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Construction Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting Livingston Associates and our clients with day-to-day financial tasks specific to the construction industry, including job costing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll support. This position offers flexibility with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and code vendor invoices in accordance with job cost codes and company procedures
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Track and reconcile purchase orders, subcontractor invoices, and change orders
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date job cost records
  • Assist with payroll processing, including tracking hours and verifying certified payroll compliance
  • Prepare bank deposits and reconcile bank statements
  • File and maintain accounting records and documentation
  • Perform general administrative and accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting (e.g., Quick Books, Sage 300, Foundation, or Viewpoint)
  • Understanding of construction billing practices such as AIA forms and retention
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with prevailing wage, certified payroll, and job costing is a plus
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with general contractors, subcontractors, or construction managers
  • Knowledge of lien laws, waivers, and compliance documentation
  • Strong communication skills for interaction with vendors, subcontractors, and project teams

This is a non-management position. This is a part-time position.
