Tax Preparer

Our small, yet growing firm currently has an opening for an experienced tax professional to join our friendly and fast paced office (located in Greece/Gates, New York area) for the upcoming tax preparation season. During tax season (i.e. late January through mid April), the role offers a flexible work week (Monday through Saturday, including two evenings).

Job Description:

In this role you will primarily be responsible for preparing complete and accurate tax returns while delivering outstanding client service. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting thorough interviews with potential clients, both in person and via the phone
• Completing all related tax forms in accordance with policies, and in compliance with legislation and regulations
• Researching tax related questions and issues while responding to clients appropriately and within a timely manner
• Reviewing all tax return forms for accuracy and completeness prior to submitting
• Maintaining a positive image

Must Have Qualifications:

• Experience preparing complex individual 1040s with Schedules A,B,C,D & E
• Experience preparing Corporate Tax returns (1120, 1120S and 1065)
• General bookkeeping or accounting knowledge
• Possess a valid and active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
• Pleasant personality with a demonstrated ability of providing excellent customer service
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in person and via phone
• The ability to work independently – organize and prioritize client returns
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with Federal/State tax resolution services
