Masis Professional Group is assisting our client in searching for a Direct Hire, CNC Manufacturing Engineer.
Purpose of the Role:The Manufacturing Engineer reports to the VP of Engineering and is involved with developing 3 and 4 axis CNC programs and fixturing for complex parts, selection of tooling, program optimization and translating design specifications into 3D models using Solidworks and Master
CAM.
The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with the manufacturing team to lead continuous improvement efforts and new product introductions. This position will include support for process and quality for the manufacturing operation to ensure goals and deadlines are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Translate design requirements and specifications into 3D models using Solidworks
- Interact with customers and company staff during new product introduction to develop manufacturing process to meet customer requirements.
- Develop CNC Programs for lathe and milling operations using Solidworks models and MasterCAM
- Analyze drawings, computer models and design data to correctly calculate part dimensions for machines, tool selection, machine speeds, feed rates and efficient tool path development
- Work with the manufacturing team to communicate recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality
- Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment. Make mechanical/program adjustments to ensure that parts are meeting productivity and quality requirements
- Serve as the lead to coordinate responses to customer complaints with the manufacturing team and the quality department.
- Occasionally set-up and operate CNC equipment to prove out programs and machining concepts
- Comply with company ISO/Quality Management System requirements
- Master
CAM/Solidworks interface required (3rd and 4th required & 5th axis capability a plus) - Experience with composite materials/plastics a plus
- Background in fixtures design is a strong plus
- Familiar with manufacturing process analysis and development.
- Familiar with the use of micrometers, snap gauges, or other tools for dimensional evaluation.
- Effective verbal, written, and mathematical skills are required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with a focus on Excel
