Overview
Laars Heatings Systems is seeking a Regional Service Manager (Southern Territory) who will establish a strong field presence and build effective customer relationships by delivering expert technical guidance and support across applications, sales, and field service functions. This role supports both internal and external sales organizations, provides critical field feedback to Product Engineering, and ensures compliance with applicable national codes (e.g., NFPA, NEC), application standards, warranty policies, and service procedures through on-site support, training, and educational initiatives.
The Regional Service Manager also develops, trains, and maintains a National Contract Service Center (CSC) database to support service consistency, performance tracking, and operational excellence. This responsibility is nationwide and may require travel outside of the assigned territory.
- Support and manage Contract Service Centers (CSCs), contractors, sales representatives, and distributors to resolve field service and warranty issues
- Complete all required field reports for site visits
- Assist with scheduling and supporting CSC service technicians at job sites on behalf of Laars, ensuring all related field site reports are completed and submitted
- Develop new relationships and recruit qualified contractors to become Contract Service Centers
- Create, schedule, and present product training programs for CSCs, contractors, sales representatives, distributors, and engineers
- Represent the company at trade association meetings and industry events
- Provide feedback to management on product performance and recommend new product or service features based on field experience and customer needs
- Attend factory meetings and training sessions as required
- Proactively plan and execute responsibilities using sound judgment and extensive field experience
- Ensure service procedures are clearly communicated, properly implemented, and regularly evaluated for effectiveness
- College degree in a technical field preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 5-7 years’ experience in boiler and water heater service position with mechanical contractor or service company
- Strong knowledge of hydronic heating equipment, heating system design, applications and service of gas and electric boilers, water heaters, and heat pumps for both residential and commercial applications
- Extensive knowledge in the installation and operation of gas and electric boilers and water heaters
- Ability to perform hands-on troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical heating systems, including:
High- and low-voltage electrical systems, water flow, pumping, and piping systems, venting systems, building automation systems (e.g., BACnet, Lon Works, Modbus) - Strong customer-service orientation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory; travel may be up to 75%
