Seasonal Delivery Assistant

Reports toDelivery Driver Supervisor
Responsibilities & Essential Functions- Loads and unloads product from trucks by ways of forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or lifting
- Operates or assists trucks for the delivery of products following preset routes provided
- Serves as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public
- Follows directions on load sheet to properly load product for delivery
- Collects payment or invoices from clients
- Product knowledge in regarding expiration dates and rotating products
- Conducts daily inspections of the vehicle at end of shift
- Complies with all DOT and in-house regulations and rules
- Provides quality service to our clients and positively represent Schott Distributing
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines, fulfill responsibilities, and maintain reliability in completing tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and foster a positive, cooperative working environment that contributes to company goals
- Ability to produce high-quality, accurate work with attention to detail and a commitment to excellence
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
This position is performed in a warehouse or in a delivery truck/trailer with continuous stops re is some exposure to weather conditions including extreme heat and cold. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and standard warehouse equipment such as fork lifts, hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move objects up to 170 pounds.
PositionType/Expected Hours of Work
This is a seasonal position, and regular workdays are Tuesday through Friday, with a flexible start time ranging from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
10-hour workdays plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Some Mondays required. Some overtime may be expected.
TravelTravel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area may be expected.
Required Qualifications- Must be 18 or older
- Driver experience preferred, but not required
