Road Mechanic

Sunbelt Rentals—the fastest growing rental business in North America—is seeking a Road Mechanic. This role performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location and primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment. Some locations may have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil & gas equipment.

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment
• Ensure work is done in the safest and most efficient manner to minimize downtime

• High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired
• 3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil & gas) strongly preferred
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (age 21+; CDL may be required in some locations)

• May need to provide mechanic's tools of trade
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
• Flexibility with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual abilities (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs

The role requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors as required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with applicable laws.

Base Pay Range: $24.05 - $33.06 per hour.
