Senior Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician.

The role will support and oversee repair within Walmart facilities’ Refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets, using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills along with hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.

• 10 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA Certification for refrigerant handling
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report
• 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Option 1: 10 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration
• Option 2: 8 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and AAS in A/C and Refrigeration
• Universal EPA Certification

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders to support stores and store associates and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines by performing work according to Walmart’s refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

• Completion of a 2‑year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2‑year associate’s of applied science in A/C and refrigeration.
• Excellent driving record.
• Prior work experience with glycol and CO₂ systems.

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, level of job offer, qualifications and other job‑related factors. Eligible for bonus incentive. The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 – $51.00, with additional premiums based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
