Active RN license

Certifications:

BLS, NRP, ACLS

Must-Have: 2 years of OB/PEDS experience

Active BLS required - must be AHA

Active NRP required

Willingness to float to other units such as Telemetry and Med-Surg if needed

EPIC experience preferred or experience with other EMR systems

Active ACLS required - must be AHA

Ability to work in Labor, Postpartum, Nursery, and Pediatrics if needed

Description:

Care for postpartum, stable antepartum, pediatric patients, newborns, GYN, Med-Surg overflow. May serve as the 2nd RN in a Special Care Nursery. Equipment utilized includes EPIC One Chart, Acudose, Philips Vitals Machines, Bladder Scanner, Medula Breast Pumps, Responder 5 Call light system, Medfusion Pumps. Nurse to patient ratio includes 1:3 mom/baby couplets, 1:5 GYN/Med-Surg patients, 1:3-4 pediatrics. Census varies with an average of 5 couplets, 2 pediatrics, 1 GYN, 2 in labor, and 4 in Special Care Nursery.

Support staff includes a ward clerk, CNA, Charge Nurse/Circulator, Resource Nurse, and LPN Scrub Nurse. May assist in Med-Surg if requested. The unit features rotating 12 hour shifts with approximately 50% of shifts during the day and 50% at night in a 6-week schedule. Successful candidates must be flexible in filling schedule vacancies due to onboarding, vacancies, and staff leaves.

Dress code is navy scrubs. Specific training on equipment and unit orientation will occur on the first day.
