Job DescriptionThe Department of Neurologic Surgery is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA) to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. The team consists of 14 NP/PAs and 21 surgeons. The role focuses on collaboratively managing the full spectrum of services provided to neurosurgical patients in pediatric and adult inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include the management of patients using protocol-driven treatment strategies and providing care within the full scope of practice in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
This role does not include OR surgical assist at this time. The incumbent will work closely with physicians, chief residents, residents, NP/PAs and nursing staff. This position operates with a high level of autonomy. Compensation is calculated based on education and experience. The base range is $ – $. Benefit-eligible employees (50-100% FTE) receive up to 7 paid time off days (commensurate with time away from practice as approved by a supervisor) and an annual allocation of $4,400 for Continuing Medical Education (CME).

Relocation is allotted for candidates 70 or more miles away from Rochester, MN.
Qualifications- Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Certified Nurse Specialist (CNS) with DEA.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
- Must hold or be able to obtain and maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications within the first year. Must be eligible for DEA registration.
- Excellent time management skills.
