This position is a multi-disciplinary function requiring a broad range of knowledge in the printing, publishing, and/or mailing technologies. Provides monitoring of processes and technologies, recommends improvements, proposes technical solutions, and collaborates with Unit Supervisor to lead people and production processes. Helps establish and maintain relevant production metrics and processes, including SOPs, A-3s, PDSAs, etc. Must be well organized and able to work well under pressure.
Well-developed interpersonal skills are a requirement to be an effective team member. Flexibility and adaptability are required, as the unit's technologies are ever-changing, and it is engaged in robust continuous-improvement activities. Includes providing appropriate feedback to colleagues to help them learn and improve.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
An Associates degree in graphics, printing, communications, or publishing-related field and 5 years' experience in a production/publishing field is required. In lieu of a degree, 7 years' experience in a production/publishing field will be accepted.
- Must have demonstrated leadership qualities, interpersonal skills, independent thinking, reliability, good judgement, and willingness to help co-workers grow and succeed.
- Proficiency at understanding oral instructions, reading, math, and computer skills required.
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, solve problems, and simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
- Incumbent must be highly motivated and use common sense and technical savvy to solve problems.
- Must possess strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Must pay close attention to detail and excel at follow-through.
- Must be able to manage multiple production tasks simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong human-relation skills, including the ability to mentor colleagues, is required.
- Must convey technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to lift/move up to 75 pounds and also to stand/walk for up to eight hours or more per shift.
- Train and mentor other employees in the work unit.
- Previous experience in a warehousing environment using warehouse management software such as Tec Sys or Oracle.
