IT Systems Support Engineer

Position Summary

The IT Systems Support Engineer is responsible for leading the hands‑on implementation of IT, R&D, and GMP‑compliant technology at the Rochester, MN site. The engineer will support technology operations and ensure compliance, provide hands‑on technical expertise, manage vendor and service providers, and play a role in enabling innovative technology development at Nucleus.

• Provide hands‑on technical expertise across domains, including office, R&D, and manufacturing technology.
• Implement industry best practices, ensure GMP compliance where applicable, and maintain audit/inspection readiness for health authorities (FDA).
• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify technology needs and evaluate and deploy appropriate solutions.
• Oversee the site’s technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and cloud services.
• Lead site efforts to meet quality and validation expectations, and author and review applicable SOPs.
• Support technology initiatives from planning through implementation, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet business requirements.
• Manage vendor and partner relationships, conduct evaluations of vendor performance, and ensure optimal technology alignment.
• Support innovation through the implementation of software and infrastructure solutions.
• Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting issues and implementing corrective and preventative actions, with an emphasis on compliance, data integrity, and security protocols.
• Recommend and implement process and technology improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices to ensure technological competitiveness.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of technology initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field required.
• 5+ years experience in a technology‑related role such as IT management or software development required.
• 3+ years experience in pharmaceutical, CDMO, manufacturing or related industry required.
• Advanced technology skills, including hardware, software, networking, and cybersecurity.
• Problem‑solving skills and resourceful thinking.
• Leadership skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong empathy and interpersonal skills.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Analytically driven.
• Ability to participate in cross‑functional teams.
• Extended hours, shift and weekend work may be required from time to time.
• Ability to travel up to 20% to other sites, conferences, or other approved/required needs.
• Must be able to sit and work at a desk for a prolonged period of time.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs on an occasional basis.

The salary range in Minnesota for this position is $95,000 - $124,000 per year. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.
