Entry Level Signal and Power Integrity/System Hardware Developer Engineer
IBM Infrastructure is seeking an entry-level Signal and Power Integrity/System Hardware Developer Engineer to contribute to high-speed serial channel analysis, power domain analysis, and first-level chip packaging integration for IBM Mainframe and Quantum systems. The role involves collaborating with IBM Research on custom chip and quantum cryogenic hardware, performing pre-production hardware analysis, laboratory verification, and model-to-hardware correlation. Candidates should have strong communication and problem-solving skills and a foundational knowledge of signal and power integrity and packaging processes.
Responsibilities- Perform strategic analysis on pre-production hardware designs using electromagnetic modeling tools, scripting, and transient simulation methods to validate and improve high-quality future designs supporting IBM’s Quantum brand.
- Develop and execute laboratory verification and characterization on early user hardware to enable model-to-hardware correlation and add value to future designs.
- Collaborate with cross-site and cross-geo teams and leadership to establish and refine strategy for tackling aggressive product goals and schedules.
- Continuously innovate design and development processes with the department, utilizing Agile best practices.
- Work experience in microprocessor, ASIC, signal and power integrity, first-level chip packaging, or hardware development environments.
- Demonstrated experience in technical execution.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn, demonstrating a growth mindset.
- Ability to proactively solve problems independently and in a team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics (required).
- High School Diploma/GED (required).
- Master’s Degree (preferred).
