ResponsibilitiesThe Lead Cardiac Monitoring and Interpreting Technician is a technical subject matter expert who supports leadership efforts by providing training and troubleshooting support while contributing to quality and process improvement throughout the lab. Responsibilities may include supporting staffing/scheduling, timekeeping, training or orientation, and supporting other departmental initiatives. The Lead provides surveillance, analysis, synthesis and preliminary interpretation of patients heart rhythm patterns and physiological parameters at rest, during exercise, or in response to medication or other procedures.
The Cardiac Monitoring and Interpreting Technician provides direct patient care for a variety of patient populations. Responsibilities also include working knowledge of monitoring/testing devices and systems, equipment calibration, troubleshooting equipment failures, preparing patients/equipment for testing and/or monitoring, assessing for appropriate testing/monitoring, providing patient education on procedures, and accurately recording physiological data and preliminary interpretations in multiple reporting systems. The technician works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, communicating abnormal or critical physiological responses and activating medical emergency response plans.

QualificationsRequires a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 4 years direct care experience in a healthcare or residential care setting or Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician Certification or Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT), or a Bachelor s degree in a related health science field with at least 1 year of related direct care experience in a healthcare or residential care setting.
Direct patient care experience, or currently in a nursing or other health care program, is preferred. Must be able to work collaboratively and to lead others in a team setting to ensure high quality patient care. Basic knowledge of ECG interpretation, cardiac terminology and cardiac medications is preferred. Must demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, be able to multitask, and be flexible with changes in the work flow.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to concentrate, pay attention to detail and remain focused for extended periods during the work shift.
- CRAT (Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician) or CCT (Certified Cardiographic Technician) required.
- BLS certification required.

Compensation Detail$22.83 - $32.71 / hour. Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
