Community Outreach – Mobile Crisis Response

The Community Outreach Mobile Crisis Response unit delivers life‑saving mental health services to individuals in crisis, collaborating with partners across the county.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
* and* two (2) years of related experience. - OR Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required. A valid driver’s license and no major traffic violations for the last three (3) years are mandatory.
- Expected salary range: $36.60 to $48.88 per hour, full salary range $36.60 to $61.15 per hour.
Position is scheduled 12:00PM – 10:00PM, four (4) days per week. The role may require nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call hours as needed. The incumbent will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and serve marginalized populations.
Examples of Work- Respond to calls and scenes in the community, providing de‑escalation and assessment of mental health and substance use situations.
- Work varied shifts including weekends, nights, holidays as needed for mobile crisis response.
- Provide mental health crisis screenings and assessments in the community.
- Provide referrals to community resources, follow‑up support, and ensure individuals connect to the level of care they need.
- Develop and implement crisis treatment plans to assist clients who require interventions including stabilization services.
- Deliver short‑term, intensive, culturally responsive mental health services to support clients and their families in managing immediate stressors.
- Gather data for reporting purposes and comply with accurate billing and time reporting submission requirements.
- Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to expand the community’s mental health and substance use continuum of care.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team and participate in regular case consultation.
- Perform related work as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of disparity and disproportionality.
- Knowledge of social sciences, principles of social work, community resources, social and economic problems, and trauma‑informed practices.
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system, victim rights, therapeutic and strength‑based approaches, and agency policy.
- Skill in verbal communication, public speaking, writing, recorded data, computer use, and advocacy.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and train other staff; provide empathy, objectivity, and good judgment in client interactions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, coworkers, public officials, and community citizens.
- Ability to work independently, organize efficiently, and keep systematic records; work with diverse populations and serve as a liaison to community resources.
- Ability to operate an automobile.
