Key Responsibilities (but Not Limited To)
- Performs routine and complex echo cardiographic examinations integrating all imaging modalities necessary to obtain pertinent patient data.
- Reviews patient medical history and supporting clinical information to ensure the appropriate imaging techniques will be utilized.
- Functions independently with minimal supervision while using independent judgement to ensure that appropriate anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions are accurately captured in the echo cardiographic examination images.
- Documents patient data and echo exam information utilizing the Echo Information Management System.
- Creates a complete and accurate preliminary report to assist Physicians in diagnosis of the patient condition and evaluation of symptoms.
- Collaborates with Advanced Cardiac Sonographers, Physicians, and other team members to assist in interpretation of echo cardiographic findings.
- Possesses the ability to handle emergency situations with the aptitude to identify and triage clinical findings for appropriate intervention.
- Assists in the orientation and training of all levels of trainees assigned to the Echocardiography laboratory.
- Expectations extend to include on-call practices, weekends, evenings, and holiday coverage as needed.

The Cardiac Sonographer must meet one of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree or Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited sonography program. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Or
- Graduate from a non-programmatically accredited cardiac ultrasound program with a minimum of one year training in cardiac ultrasound including 800 clinical hours.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) in Adult Echo required before start of employment.
- Minimum of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification accepted.

Compensation Detail$39.08 - $58.67 / hour. Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
