Sets up and performs routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals, grant commitments, i.e. assays, cell/tissue culture, animal studies, etc. Monitors results, reports unusual outcomes and suggests modifications. Collects, enters and summarizes data. Assists in the maintenance of lab equipment and supplies. Performs basic statistical data analysis; prepares tables/charts/graphs and assists in organizing data. Presents at research laboratory meetings and contributes to writing of manuscripts.
Works under supervision and may perform some assignments independently as discussed and approved by Principal Investigator.
The Gingery laboratory investigates local and systemic impacts of aging, cellular senescence, immune dysregulation, and metabolic dysfunction in musculoskeletal diseases and conditions. These include carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren contracture, rheumatoid arthritis, connective tissue fibrosis, tendinopathy, rotator cuff tears, tendon injury and repair, skeletal biology, and wound healing. The goal is to develop evidence-based preventives and therapeutics. Dr. Gingery and her Musculoskeletal Biology and Immunology Laboratory uses multidisciplinary, state-of-the-art approaches, including bioinformatics and spatial, single-cell, and metabolomic multi-omics.
The Research Technologist would support ongoing projects. Duties will include routine, cell, molecular, model system and translational laboratory work under supervision of the PI. Candidate should be highly goal and detail oriented and have strong teamwork skills. Training will be provided on many in-lab techniques but previous experience working with model systems and molecular techniques is highly preferred.
QualificationsRequires bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, other relevant science, or an associates degree with 6 years of relevant laboratory experience. Must exhibit a solid understanding of lab techniques, equipment, and safety. Must have the ability to organize and conduct laboratory techniques independently and in a team setting. Experience with basic data analysis is required. This position requires demonstrated writing skills.
Compensation DetailEducation, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. $ per hour.
ScheduleFull Time. Monday-Friday days. As needed on weekends depending on experiments.
