The Patient Care Assistant assists patient care unit staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Carries out designated activities that are within functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel. Duties align closely with Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Patient Care Technician (PCT) roles, making this a great opportunity for those with CNA experience.

• Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
• Must be able to read, write, communicate, and understand English. Ability to follow written and verbal directions.

• Completion of 12 college credits – or – High school diploma/GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent (preferred).
• Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
• Completion of 12 college credits – or – high school diploma/ GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent preferred.

• If a candidate does not currently have Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from American Heart Association or American Red Cross, the certification will be included as part of the orientation program; must maintain current certification.
