Survey Technician - Rochester, Minnesota

WHKS is looking for a detailed and technically oriented individual who is passionate about contributing fresh perspectives and creative ideas. As a survey technician, you will collaborate with other surveying and engineering professionals on various survey work throughout the state of Minnesota. This is a full time position with benefits and may include some overnight travel.

Responsibilities Include:

* Perform boundary and topographic surveys, platting, and construction staking for various private and public projects.

* Perform project staking and layout.

* Complete survey computations.

* Verify field dimensions and elevations to project plans.

* Operate survey equipment utilizing GPS, Total Station, and leveling instruments.

* Perform other survey-related duties primarily in the field.

Qualifications:

Required

* 0 - 5+ years of field survey and GPS experience.

* A valid driver's license.

* Demonstrated math skills.

* Excellent computer and communication skills (both verbal and written).

* Must be able to manage workload independently.

* Ability to:

* Perform physical tasks that may involve moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

* Operate equipment and tools safely and effectively.

* Remain in a stationary position and/or move about the work site, including standing, walking, bending, and climbing, for extended periods.

* Work in varying outdoor weather conditions or environments.

Preferred

* Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.

* Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.

* Experience with Trimble equipment and software.
