Job Overview
Electrical Designer role are looking for a lead electrical designer to deliver outdoor lighting and electrical design for government agencies and public infrastructure.
The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities- Lead complex projects in outdoor lighting and electrical design for government agencies and public infrastructure.
- Develop electrical design solutions for local roadways, city streets, bridges, highways, interchanges, parks, trails, public spaces, amphitheaters, sound stages, event venues, and color‑changing LED lighting systems.
- Generate lighting layouts based on photometric analysis that meet recommended practices, DOT, municipal, or local agency standards.
- Evaluate and compare outdoor lighting equipment for quality.
- Produce, manage, and maintain construction documents, including detailed drawings and specifications for lighting, power distribution, and lighting control systems.
- Perform all technical design calculations typically expected of an electrical engineer, partnering with in‑house licensed engineers for final review and stamping.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, project managers, and clients to meet project and client expectations.
- Provide construction administration for electrical projects, including responding to requests for information, change orders, inspection, and punch list generation.
- Supervise and/or mentor other lighting and electrical designers.
- Lead and manage projects for the outdoor lighting and electrical group, including marketing, cross‑functional team coordination, client engagement, interaction, and communication.
- Associate’s degree in electrical or lighting program from an accredited college.
- Proficient in applicable electrical codes related to outdoor lighting and electrical design, voltage drop calculations, power distribution design, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven experience acting as electrical or lighting discipline lead on multi‑discipline projects.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Roadway lighting design experience using AGI 32.
- Project management experience, or interest/capability in becoming a project manager.
- Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, field surveys, and construction observation.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience.
- Airfield lighting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college.
- Licensed Electrical Engineer with ability to be licensed in multiple states.
- Experience conducting field investigations, condition assessments, writing reports, and interfacing with clients.
- Bentley Micro Station and/or Open Roads experience.

Compensation and BenefitsBase compensation expected in the range of $90,000 to $130,000 based on skill set and experience.
