Job Description
- Teach (general, introductory, or general, organic & biochemistry (GOB) lectures and labs. The successful candidate would be expected to teach courses that would include but are not limited to Chemistry in Our World, Principles of Chemistry I & II labs, General, Organic, and Biochemistry, or Forensics Chemistry.
- Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs.
- Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field.
- Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.
- Contribute to student growth and development including student advising.
- Provide service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community.
- Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.
- Minimum of ten scheduled office hours per week.
$50,; commensurate with rank, qualifications and experience.
Minimum Qualifications- Earned Masters or PhD/ABD in chemistry or biochemistry.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
- Ability to teach undergraduate chemistry lecture and laboratory.
- Ability to work harmoniously with faculty, students, and staff.
- Evidence of effective oral and written English communication skills.
- Experience with modern instructional technology and instrumentation.
- Skills/ability to integrate technology to enhance learning and teaching.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
- Relevant teaching experience.
- The successful candidate must be able to lawfully accept employment in the United States by the day employment begins. The University does not offer H1-B sponsorship at this time.
